It’s been a minute and I have slipped a bit in my goal of blogging at least once a week. I’ve been extremely busy with work and family. November brings another birthday for me and, like a thunderous alarm in the night, sudden holiday planning. Also, the country is chaotic and that can take even the best of us out of the game for awhile. I have excuses.
As the weather here in the Northeast turns to cooler days and longer nights, the opportunities for pleasure flying start to dwindle. Since I’m not yet checked out in the Cirrus SR22, which has a suitable Flight Into Known Icing (FIKI) system, it is the time of year where a significantly cloudy and cold day could curtail any flying plans, regardless of my remaining instrument current. It’s not that cold yet but it is on the horizon.
So, in my pledge to provide, here is what is in the pipeline. I’m currently working on the first article for FFH and it is targeted toward the commercial aviation sector. While this site chronicles much about my flying, I will occasionally expand the scope to include all things aviation - even the jets that I am not qualified to fly. Admittedly, I do not possess endless amounts of content on just myself to fill the pages of this website. I’m just not that interesting! There is no date on when the article will go live but it is underway and in process.
Also, weather permitting, I will go flying next week. Hopefully it does not turn out to be one of the aforementioned cold and overcast days (no FIKI system in the SR20). No plans yet on where I will go or what I will do but at least I’m committed and the cameras will certainly be rolling. If you have any thoughts on where I should go (within reasonable distance of KHPN), please leave a comment below.
My next check in will not be so far out. Thanks for your patience with me and thanks for stopping by!
